Martin Van Buren was born is New York on December 5, 1782 and died on July 24, 1862. Before Van Buren became president in 1837 at the age of 54, he was still into law and politics. Graduating all formal education at the age of 14, Van Buren became a lawyer. This is a very good quality for a president to have because it show they have a true understanding of law which is good as they will be handling the laws. As well as being a lawyer, Van Buren became the senator, the attorney general, and the governor of New York. This also shows he has prior knowledge of law as well as having experience in politics ( which he entered in the early 1800s ) which is another important quality in a president. As well as having knowledge of law and politics even more in depth then just politics, he actually helped create the Democratic Party! Martin Van Buren is definitely qualified for presidency. He's smart, he knows about the law(s), he knows about politics, and he has experience in both fields.
